What's an "email handled" exactly?+
One email handled = one inbound email Koan reads, classifies, and drafts a reply for (or routes to a category, or applies a rule on). Regenerating a draft never counts as a new one. Starter includes 200/mo (~10 emails per business day), Active 1,000/mo (~50/day), Studio 5,000/mo + fair-use up to 10k. Anything above your quota is billed per-email at the overage rate shown on each tier.

How does Koan actually read my email?+
OAuth, scoped to the inbox you connect. Koan reads incoming messages, drafts replies in a sandbox, and only sends what you (or your rules) authorize. Your password is never stored, no IMAP credentials in plaintext, revoke access in one click from your Google or Microsoft account.
Will replies sound like me, or like a robot?+
Koan reads the last 500 emails you sent, learns your phrasing, sign-offs, formality level, and stops you'd consider important. Drafts read like you on your best day. You can edit any draft inline before it sends, and Koan learns from every correction.
What happens if Koan makes a mistake?+
Per category, you choose: autopilot or hold-for-approval. We recommend hold-for-approval for the first two weeks, autopilot once you trust the drafts. Anything above a revenue threshold you set (say, deals over $5k) always waits for your green light, regardless of mode.
What's the Opus add-on?+
Sonnet 4.6 is the default model and handles 95% of replies beautifully. The Opus add-on routes high-stakes threads (large deals, key contacts, negotiation tone) through Claude Opus 4.7 for the deepest reasoning. Billed per email handled by Opus at $0.20 each. Studio includes Opus on-demand at no extra charge.

Where does my data live?+
